Project Scope

The Selhurst Community Academy addresses identified community challenges through a comprehensive and holistic programme. By integrating sports, education, entrepreneurship, and community engagement, the Academy ensures participants develop essential life skills, access employment opportunities, and contribute positively to their community.

Key Programmes and Activities:

1. Football Programme

Description: The Football Programme is designed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and emotional well-being.


•    Weekly Coaching Sessions: Structured activities include warm-ups, skill drills, matches, and cool-downs to improve physical health and teamwork.
•    Mindfulness Integration: Techniques to enhance emotional regulation, focus, and mental resilience.
•    Life Skills Workshops: Topics such as leadership, communication, and conflict resolution to foster personal growth.
•    Community Engagement: Participants join local tournaments and events to strengthen community ties.


Methodological Approach and Impact: The programme leverages sports as a tool for social change, fostering teamwork, discipline, and leadership while addressing anti-social behaviour. It also offers pathways to roles in coaching, team management, or community sports development.

2. Sports Mentoring Programme

Description: A mentoring initiative that combines personal development and sports:

•    Weekly Mentoring Sessions: Goal-setting, action plans, and confidence-building activities.
•    Joint Activities: Shared training sessions and matches to strengthen bonds.

•    Climate Change Education: Interactive workshops on sustainability and environmental practices.


Methodological Approach and Impact: These courses prepare participants for the digital economy while raising awareness about global sustainability issues. The hands-on training ensures participants are equipped with practical skills for future employment.

4. Park and Wash Programme
